Experienced senior living and healthcare leader will begin her new role at the end of October.
ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Friendly Senior Living has named Julie Kumiega, MHA, Administrator of Assisted Living and Memory Care at Glenmere. Kumiega, who currently serves as Director of Social Work/Admissions at the Friendly Home, will begin her new role on October 26, 2026.
Kumiega brings more than 25 years of experience caring for and advocating for older adults and their families. Her background spans senior living, social work, hospice, and healthcare operations, including service as an administrator of two assisted living communities and as an executive director in senior living.
Proven Leadership in Senior Living and Person-Centered Care
In previous assisted living leadership roles, Kumiega oversaw resident care and services, admissions, clinical coordination, staff leadership, occupancy management, and regulatory compliance. She holds a Master of Health Administration and a bachelor’s degree in psychology.
Throughout her career, Kumiega has built interdisciplinary teams, advanced person-centered care, and worked to strengthen the resident and family experience. Her approach centers on listening, helping families navigate important life transitions, and creating environments where residents and employees can thrive.
