Free Hesburgh Lecture Brings Cross-Generational Leadership Insights to Rochester, NY

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Lily Brook, a Friendly Senior Living community, and The Notre Dame Club of Rochester will host a free public lecture on how four generations can communicate, collaborate, and lead effectively in today’s modern workplace.

University of Notre Dame professor Angela R. Logan, Ph.D., will present “Powerful Conversations Across Generations” at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 1, 2026, in the Community Room at Lily Brook, 150 French Road, Rochester, NY 14618.

Navigating 4 Generations in the Workplace

Logan’s presentation will analyze how the defining experiences of Baby Boomers, Generation X, Millennials, and Generation Z influence workplace communication and organizational leadership. Attendees will gain practical, actionable strategies for navigating generational differences, resolving workplace friction, and building cohesive, multi-generational teams.

The event is part of the nationwide Hesburgh Lecture Series, celebrating its 40th anniversary in 2026. Sponsored by the Notre Dame Alumni Association, the initiative connects university faculty with local communities to discuss pressing social, academic, and global issues.

“For the first time in history, the world of work spans four generations,” said Dr. Logan. “Audiences will gain clear insights into how each generation shows up on the job and how those core differences shape the way we lead, collaborate, and communicate.”
