Joanne Andrews’ “Flora and Fauna” Exhibit Opens at the Friendly Home in Rochester, NY

Local artist showcases vibrant watercolor, acrylic, and stained glass works from April 1 through June 30, 2026

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The Friendly Home, located at 3156 East Avenue in Rochester, NY, presents Flora and Fauna, an exhibit by local artist Joanne Andrews. The exhibit runs from April 1 through June 30, 2026.

Joanne Andrews’ Flora and Fauna celebrates the natural world through watercolor, acrylic, and stained glass works. In particular, her art captures the beauty, movement, and color of plant and animal life. As a result, the exhibit offers a vibrant and immersive experience for visitors in Rochester, NY.

A Career Rooted in Art and Community

A graduate of Syracuse University, Andrews holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. In turn, she brings decades of professional and creative experience to her work.

Andrews spent 15 years in the newspaper industry as an artist and later as an art director. During that time, she worked at the Tampa Tribune and the Rochester Democrat and Chronicle.

Over the past 30 years, Andrews has built a career as a freelance artist and educator. In addition, she continues to teach art to children while exhibiting her work across the region. For example, her work has appeared at Artists Row and the Holiday Bazaar at the Rochester Museum & Science Center. Likewise, it has been featured at the Clothesline Festival at the Memorial Art Gallery.

Furthermore, Andrews has served as Art Director for Magic Dragon Magazine for more than 20 years. Through this role, she supports a nonprofit publication that promotes creativity and artistic expression among children.
