New Volunteers

Volunteer Health Requirements

All volunteers are required to complete a set of mandated health requirements before beginning their volunteer assignment.  These are:

  • Tuberculin skin test (PPD) to be administered by the Friendly Home nursing staff or your own physician. Your physician must provide documentation stating the date the test was administered, the date the test was read and the results of the test.  This must be in writing. A second PPD will be required, but you can start volunteering as soon as the first one is complete. Please call employee health at 789-3206 or email rzcyblrrurnygu@sevraqylubzr.bet to schedule your PPD.
  • Proof of immunity to Measles/Mumps/Rubella (MMR).  Sufficient proof of documentation of immunity are as follows:
    • A document prepared by a physician, physician’s assistant, specialist’s assistant, nurse practitioner or a laboratory demonstrating serologic evidence of measles and antibodies.  The screen and titer are both considered acceptable forms of serologic evidence; orA document indicating two doses of live virus measles vaccine were administered with the first dose administered on/or after the age of 12 months and the second dose administered more than 30 days after the first dose but after 15 months of age showing the product administered and the date of administration, and prepared by the health practitioner who administered the immunization; orA document indicating the diagnosis of the volunteer as having had measles disease, prepared by the physician, physician’s assistant/specialist’s assistant or nurse practitioner who diagnosed the employee’s measles; or
    • A copy of a document described above which comes from a previous employer or the school, which the volunteer attended as a student.
  • The choice of proof of flu vaccine each flu season or wearing a mask while volunteering. Sufficient proof of vaccine documentation is as follows:
    • A document prepared by a health care provider demonstrating the date the vaccine was administered and by whom.
