"Our family has been connected to the Friendly Home and to Linden Knoll for many years through my mother, Myrtle Lev, who moved to Linden Knoll from her own apartment eleven years ago when her need for more services and personal safety became evident. Linden Knoll provided a secure environment with everything under one roof – dining, laundry service, house cleaning service, library, transportation and more. Perhaps even more important to her were the friendships she made with staff and other residents. She was never alone! After a serious fall three years ago, my mother concluded she needed yet more assistance and the Friendly Home was her first choice. Conveniently located next to Linden Knoll, with a stellar reputation for patient care, that was our first choice for her as well. The Friendly Home truly is “FRIENDLY” – each and every staff member we’ve worked with has been kind, courteous, and caring. From the custodial staff to the kitchen to the aides, nurses, social workers and receptionists, we’ve experienced nothing but “best in class” attention. The daily activities offered through the Recreation staff are designed to engage and entertain at all levels of need. From the moment you enter the Friendly Home, you feel more like you’ve entered a warm and inviting hotel , not a nursing facility. It’s a real WOW."

"How do you choose a nursing home for your loved one? According to my Dad, The Friendly Home chose him! You see, after several hospitalizations and multiple stays at the Transitional Care Center at the Friendly Home, the time came when he needed skilled care. “The Friendly Home wants me” is what my Dad told the Social Worker at the hospital and that same day he entered his new home, with his name already on his room! He was welcomed and greeted with hugs by familiar staff members. Quickly the staff helped him settle in and feel comfortable in his new surroundings. There are lots of activities that now fill my Dad's days. He is on multiple committees, including Member's Council and Mens Club. One of his favorite activities is Bingo, which is offered several times a week.  I love how on most days when I visit he tells me what a busy day he has had!  We have utilized the Family Gathering Lounge for many memorable celebrations.  It allows my Dad to feel he is hosting the event!   He sure is proud to offer his guests a cup of coffee, available at the Gift Shop/Café or in the Lobby.  They even offer educational “Lunch and Learn” programs to educate families on a variety of topics!  It seems they have thought of everything!

The staff is top notch. From the Maintenance staff to the CEO, everyone shows my Dad respect and always greet him by name. You know they put the Member first by the way they show courtesy to not only the Members but to their families as well.  They are all approachable and open to suggestions, anything that may improve the quality of my Dad's life.  If he is not feeling well, the Medical team works tirelessly until the reason and remedy are found. I am always made aware of any, even the littlest, changes in my Dad's condition. His nurses and aides know him so well and treat him like a member of their own family.  I think of them in that way as well!  My visits are pleasant and upbeat!  It is reassuring that I am entering a bright, clean, warm and friendly environment. I know my Dad is in good hands!  Thank you Friendly Home for all you do for your Members, their families and your staff!"
